The Asterbridge method
Asterbridge is fictional by design. Its institutions, datasets, surveys, policy records, officials, and implementation failures let later evidence change the meaning of earlier evidence without making claims about real jurisdictions or people.
The missing late-night bus gives students a concrete problem that grows into questions of authority, distribution, methods, participation, evidence, implementation, and learning.
Each chapter adds one artefact. Students can revise earlier work when new evidence or institutional facts change the analysis rather than pretending every exercise stands alone.
Different students can reach different conclusions and still produce excellent work when claims, evidence, assumptions, values, authority, and responses to dissent are defensible.
Consistent chapter rhythm
The sequence repeats in every chapter, but it is easier to teach as two coherent phases: first understand the problem, then work and test the problem.
Begin with the political puzzle, establish expectations, bring the relevant disciplinary lenses into view, and determine what methods can actually establish.

Teaching philosophy
The manuscript does not ask students to treat NousPolis as the historical destination of political science or as a doctrine to be memorized. Competing frameworks are taught on their own terms, and the architecture should be used only where it helps reveal problems that would otherwise remain hidden.
A strong course therefore rewards challenges to the framework: technocracy, model bias, surveillance, corporate concentration, participation inequality, institutional capture, value conflict, procedural power, and performative transparency all belong inside the analysis.
